Math and Science TutorWhen teaching, I like to be approachable and to determine not only what students want help with, but how best to get there. I tutor math, physics, astronomy and chemistry from Grade 9 through university, and I’m most interested in teaching first-year physics and calculus.

What I teach
A quick look at my subjects, levels and session format. The full breakdown by subject is further down the page.

What sessions with me are like
I like to be approachable and to figure out not only what you want help with, but how best to get there.
Getting ready for the test, not just the homework
To prepare students for assessments, I like to cover practice problems that highlight heuristic approaches that can be taken during timed tests and exams.
Beyond the current assignment or test, my hope is to give students different approaches, in addition to those covered in the classroom, so they can better understand how they learn themselves.
Subjects and course ranges
I am most interested in teaching first-year physics and calculus. At the university level, the courses I can support depend on the subject.
Background and why I tutor
Where I’m coming from
I completed a thesis-based MSc in Biophysics at the University of Guelph in 2026. Before that, I earned an Honours BSc in Physics and Astronomy, with a minor in Biophysics, from the University of Waterloo in 2022. My thesis drew on quantitative analysis and thermodynamics.
From January 2024 to April 2026, I worked as a Math Tutorial Instructor for first- and second-year university math (60 hours) and as a Math Drop-In Centre Tutor for first-year university math and physics (195 hours).
Over the same period, I also tutored privately, helping students from high school to first-year university with physics and math (50 hours).
What keeps me teaching
Alongside my own research, I have found teaching lectures and tutoring one on one at the university to be very fulfilling.
In my experience, understanding complex, abstract topics comes down to staring at the problem for long enough, and in as many different ways, until things click. I want to give students some of those different ways.
When I’m not teaching
I am a big proponent of road trips, having driven from Victoria to Prince Edward Island, and many places in between!
In my spare time, I like walking and reading.
I also enjoy trying new recipes.
